Position Description:

Software Developer II, UKG, Inc., Weston, Florida (Remote)

 

Will work as a member of Development Team responsible for programming and developing new feature designs and defect fixes for software applications. Specific duties include the following:

 

·        Participate in code review sessions with Development Team members and Architects.

·        Participate in design sessions based on functional and business requirements to determine the appropriate architectural app design and UI/UX.

·        Lead technical initiatives on design, implementation and delivery components of the software development lifecycle.

·        Work closely with the Architect and Leads to vet technical designs and assist with critical application decisions.

·        Complete assigned programming duties, and report progress to Team Leads and Managers.

·        Update assigned user stories with the latest information and status.

·        Communicate progress and status amongst respective project teams and cross-department teams.

·        Work with Team Leads regarding application support, and help to oversee communication, analysis, testing, and implementation as the need arises.

·        Work closely with QA to ensure that application designs are understood, testing approaches agreed upon, and user stories are understood.

·        Assist in developing project estimates and timelines.

·        Rely on instructions, pre-established guidelines, policies, and procedures to perform day-to-day tasks.

·        Rely on research and domain expertise to work on technical projects.

·        Identify and suggest ways to improve team, and development processes.

 

Requirements:

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a closely related field and 2 years of experience as a Software Developer working on enterprise level applications.  Must also have experience (which can have been gained concurrently with the primary experience requirement above) working with the following:

·        Java as well as leveraging frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, Java Script), and frameworks (Angular – Single page Applications) to develop UI screens from prototypes;

·        Concurrency, multithreading, design patterns, microservices and event driven architecture, object-oriented analysis and design and database modelling;

·        Open-source frameworks (Spring and Hibernate) for building robust REST APIs and multi-tier application design and development;

·        Relational and non-relational databases and writing complex queries and stored procedures;

·        Unit testing, Integration testing, Regression, and functional testing methodologies;

·        Using any PAAS offering in application deployment; and

·        Working as part of a Kanban/Agile based team.

 

Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

 

This is a telecommuting position working from home. May reside anywhere in the continental U.S.
