Samurai-Con/The Invincible Woman Project
Please see description above
Hello, I’m a FIU Ph.D. grad and current post-doc in biology who volunteered to teach the Invincible Woman Self Defense course during the Ph.D. program. Invincible Woman Self Defense is part of a larger initiative called the Invincible Woman Project launched by myself and my mother, Dr. Faye, who is a clinical psychologist who works with survivors of violence against women. To raise funds to professionally film the Invincible Woman course and spread it to other universities, I am launching a virtual martial arts convention called Samurai-Con on May 1st. I need a tech savvy student, possibly a computer science student, to:
1. Set up an SEO-optimized website with an online store to sell the official t-shirt for Samurai-Con.
2. Set up thru coding or use a pre-existing system online where with each t-shirt purchase, the person gets a raffle ticket they can place on a piece of martial arts artwork of their choice. Attendees should be able to see how many bids are placed on each piece of artwork. Every hour of the convention, one of the art pieces will be raffled off.
3. Help either integrate the website with a pre-existing virtual platform, or set up a virtual platform for the convention.
Please contact me at (404)290-6628 or saboo001@fiu.edu at your earliest convenience if you may be interested. I look forward to touching base!
Best,
