Position Description:

FIU KFSCIS Discovery Lab will be hosting a Digital Forensics Workshop, and six-week (part-time) “Mini-Research Experience” (MRX) Sprint this summer from June 7th through July 23rd.  We will provide a course titled, A Short Course in Digital Forensics, which will be offered the week of June 7-11.  The research sprint will provide A Research Fundamentals 101 Course (1-day) and give students a digital forensics research challenge to solve over the next six weeks, where you will be working in teams. The program will be VIRTUAL via ZOOM.

NOTE: This is a volunteer, unpaid position, BUT may lead to a paid position in the Fall semester.


Undergraduate or graduate students in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or Computer Engineering.

GPA of 3.0 minimum


Position Duties:

Incumbents will be required to;

a.       attend virtual meetings each week for seven weeks.

b.       Conduct digital forensics research

c.       think out-of-the-box

d.       provide innovative solutions

e.       present your solutions at our end of experience conference.

f.        Draft your research results into a research paper.

g.       Complete a research poster
