Inspiring Girls to Code!

About the Company:

Code/Art's mission is to increase the number of girls studying computer science by delighting and inspiring them with the creative possibilities of computer programming. We use art to inspire girls in grades 4-12 to code! We hold workshops where we teach students how to write computer programs to generate art and hold an annual event, Code/Art Miami, where student computer-generated art is displayed and awards are given for the top coded art submissions.

Position Description:

As a member of a group of 30 instructors, lead 8 monthly coding sessions in a classroom of ~24 students at Young Women’s Preparatory Academy (grades 6-12) and oversee an end-of-year Showcase & Awards Ceremony for your class. The instruction is non-intimidating. Sixth graders will be learning Scratch, and all other students will be learning basic HTML and CSS. You will be provided with a syllabus and links to all curriculum ahead of time. You will also receive detailed instruction and training at a Training Session about a week before your first session.
